Built From the Ground Up in Chicagoland
Our founder, Dominick Passo, didn't enter this industry as an owner. He started hands-on more than 15 years ago, working through roofing, restoration, remodeling, and project management before launching his own company. What began as Excel Roofing & Restoration, the local roofing company in Lombard that DuPage County homeowners came to rely on for storm restoration work, grew into Semper Fi Construction in 2025: a full-service contractor with an expanded team, an in-house public adjusters division, and a clear identity built around the people doing the work.
The name means something specific to us. Semper Fi comes from Dominick's Marine Corps service. It isn't a branding exercise. It's the operating standard he built this company around, and it shows up in how we run every project.

What Veteran Ownership Actually Means on Your Job Site
When homeowners searching for a veteran-owned roofing contractor in Illinois want to know what makes Semper Fi different, the answer isn't a list of adjectives. It's how the job gets run.
Military service builds operational habits: operating under pressure, owning outcomes without excuses, communicating clearly, and not cutting corners because no one is watching. Dominick built those habits into the structure of this company, and they show up on every project in specific, checkable ways. Our core values—Leading by Example, Extreme Ownership, Discipline, and Uncompromising Integrity—are the reason our timelines hold and our customers know what to expect before, during, and after their project.
How That Shows Up in Your Project
-
Crews arrive on the scheduled date, not when it's convenient
-
Project scope is confirmed in writing before work begins
-
Communication stays consistent from the first call through the final walkthrough
-
If something doesn't meet our standard, we address it before you have to ask

The residential roofing market in Chicagoland has a real and well-documented trust problem. After every significant hail event, out-of-state crews arrive in DuPage and Cook Counties offering quick inspections and fast quotes. By the time a homeowner notices a problem the following spring, a leak, a mishandled claim, or a workmanship issue with no one to contact, that contractor is operating in another state entirely.
Semper Fi Construction is a trusted roofing company in DuPage County with a fixed address, a licensed team, and a direct line to the people who ran your project. As the veteran-owned contractor in Chicagoland and the veteran-owned roofing contractor in Illinois that homeowners can verify before they sign anything, we don't operate on a storm-chasing model. We operate as a local business with a local reputation to protect.

Rooted in Lombard, Serving All of Chicagoland
Our home base is 2N225 Grace St in Lombard, IL 60148, and our service footprint covers DuPage, Cook, Kane, Will, and Kendall Counties, the same communities our team members live in. That matters because local contractors have local reputations to protect, and ours means everything to us.
Semper Fi Construction also operates an active public adjusters division, launched in 2022 to support homeowners through the insurance claim process from damage assessment through settlement. As a veteran-owned roofing contractor in Illinois with roots in Lombard and a service footprint that covers all of Chicagoland, it's one of the most concrete demonstrations of what we mean when we say Always Faithful.
